Mr. Clement has been with Houston Community College since 1994. He joined the Intensive English Program at HCC-Southeast as a full-time faculty member in January 1997. Previously, he taught in China, at Western Washington University, and the American Language Academy at the University of Portland, where he was assistant director.

A member of TESOL, WAESOL, and TexTESOL, Mr. Clement served on the board of directors of TEXTESOL Region IV from 1997-2001.

Mr. Clement has published two books and contributed to a third. As part of a faculty fellowship, Mr. Clement developed a computer program for English pronunciation practice.  He also participated in the development of a 30 part videotape series entitled English for Public Health  for the Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine.  This project was sponsored by the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Public Health of the People's Republic of China.

Mr. Clement lived in Beijing, China, for over three years and speaks Mandarin Chinese.
