Biography
Biography: A native-Texan, Ms. McLane has taught political science, criminal justice and marketing courses during her career, which began when she was employed as a teaching assistant at the University of Texas, Austin, in 1977. Although worked full-time in government and private sector positions for much of her career, she always found time to teach at the collegiate level.
She started teaching for Wharton County Junior College full-time in 1999. Additionally, Ms. McLane has served as a city commissioner, and worked on various political campaigns. She enjoys new technology and earned a M.L.S. to improve her research and technical skills in the classroom. Since coming to Houston in 1989, she has taught for University of Houston-Downtown, Alvin Community College, Houston Community College, North Harris Montgomery Community College District and San Jacinto College.
