David Driver has conducted archaeological research at Native American and Historic sites in the United States, Maya sites in Belize, and Roman sites in Saudi Arabia. In Belize, he worked on a number of projects from 1986 to 2003, and served as the Field Director for the Blackman Eddy and Blue Creek Archaeological Projects.
His research interests include Maya archaeology and architecture, Underwater archaeology, Historical and Battlefield archaeology, Human burials, Field methodology, and Site survey and mapping. His doctoral dissertation examines how the ancient Maya at Blue Creek used architecture and space to help create their social and political identities.
