RELE 1301 Principles of Real Estate An overview of licensing as a real estate broker and salesperson, ethics of practice, titles to and conveyancing of real estate, legal descriptions, law of agency, deeds, encumbrances and liens, distinctions between personal and real property, contracts, appraisal, finance and regulations, closing procedures, and real estate mathematics. Also includes federal, state, and local laws relating to housing discrimination, housing credit discrimination, and community reinvestment. This course is required by The Texas Real Estate Commission for new salesperson applicants.

RELE 1307 Real Estate Investment Financing, evaluation, and management of real estate investment. Emphasis on real estate investment characteristics, techniques of investment analysis, time-valued money, discounted investment criteria, leverage, and applications to property tax implications of owning real estate.

RELE 1311 Real Estate Contracts A review of real estate contracts required by Section 6A (3) of the Real Estate License Act with emphasis on general contract law requirements. Also covers the purpose, history, and working process of the Broker- Lawyer Committee. Includes preparation of real estate contract forms with emphasis on the most commonly used forms. The first six classroom hours consist of a review of the subject required by Section 6A(3) of the Real Estate License Act with emphasis on general contract law requirements. This course is required by The Texas Real Estate Commission for new salesperson applicants.

RELE 1324 Loan Origination & Qual.Control An introduction to the mortgage loan application process. Topics include regulatory compliance and documentation, real estate contracts, the mortgage application process, interview techniques, credit, income and property qualification, quality controls and procedures. Accredited: Texas Savings and Loan Department.

RELE 2301 Law of Agency A study of law of agency including principalagent and master-servant relationships, the authority of an agent, the termination of an agent’s authority, the fiduciary and other duties of an agent, employment law, deceptive trade practices, listing or buying procedures, and the disclosure of an agency. This course is required by The Texas Real Estate Commission for new salesperson applicants.

RELE 2309 Principles of Real Estate II An overview of licensing as a real estate broker and salesman; ethics of practice; titles to and conveyancing of real estate; legal descriptions; law of agency; deeds; encumbrances and liens; distinctions between personal and real property; contracts; appraisal; finance and regulations; closing procedures; real estate mathematics; and federal, state, and local laws relating to housing discrimination, housing credit discrimination, and community reinvestment. The Texas Real Estate Commission requires this course for new salesperson applicants.

RELE 2311 Fund.of Mortgage Lending A study of the theoretical and practical framework necessary to understand the complex field of mortgage lending with emphasis on loan application, qualifications, and underwriting. Also includes the role of lenders, security instruments, residential loan appraisals, and closing and funding the loan. This course emphasizes workforce training in the areas of loan processing and underwriting procedures as determined by the needs of industry.
